HTC has been wowing the tech press with its new Android smartphone, offering the Sensation 4G.

The Taiwanese electronics manufacturer said that the Sensation will debut in Europe in mid-May alongside HTC's tablet offering, the Flyer. We will see it in Europe in June while the Americans will get it later in Summer.

The Sensation is HTC's second dual-core processor gizmo and is based around the 1.2-GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon. The company's upcoming Evo 3D also sports a 1.2-GHz Snapdragon, though it has yet to be seen in the shops.

The phone has a 4.3-inch LCD screen, and the 8-megapixel back-facing camera is capable of recording HD video at 1080p resolution.

It comes with a Video Trimmer tool which allows for clip cropping straight from the handset which does not sound like much fun to us.

The company is also offering a video streaming service. Dubbed HTC Watch, the service will be available on both its dual core devices, and will launch with over 500 titles. You have the option to either rent or buy movies on Watch. Quite why any one would want to watch a Hollywood blockbuster on a 4.3 inch screen remains one of life's mysteries.

The Sensation will also launch with a new version of HTC Sense, the company's Android based custom interface.

So far there is no word on pricing, but we are expecting it to be expensive.
